24.2. MELITA'S ART EXHIBITION
WHEN -- 24/02/2017 from 19:00
WHERE -- Ground floor at Das Packhaus
WHO -- Melita Gjergjek
WHAT -- "We are creators of our fairy tales and each fairy tale has its own rules. One of my rules, in my own fairytale, is to slow down and see under the skin of animals, humans and nature. See what we really are and how connected everything is. Drawing to my sketchbook is my time, the place where I slow down and where I can be with myself. When I start drawing, I have only a vague idea about the whole picture, but eventually, all the pieces start coming together, with each dot my subjects are getting more personality to the point where I can relate to them as a projection of my feelings. With my work, I am trying to communicate the appreciation and awareness of everything and everyone around us and to see beyond the distraction of superficiality."
HOW -- Enjoy a lovely night with good food, some wine, nice music and some Art of her.
Once upon a time, all animals on Earth were one. Even though they looked different on the outside, inside they were all the same. From time to time they have gathered at the sacred cave, deep inside the forest to celebrate their unity. When they arrived they all took down their skins. Raven shod his feathers, spare his fur and then they were dancing. But one day a human made it to the cave and loathed what he saw because he did not understand. Embarrassed, the animals fled, and that was the last time they revealed themselves this way. (story from eternity)
We are creators of our fairy tales and each fairy tale has its own rules. One of my rules, in my own fairytale, is to slow down and see under the skin of animals, humans and nature. To see what we really are and how everything is connected. Drawing in my sketchbook is my time and my place, where I slow down and where I can be (with) myself. - Melita
Melita had a truly wonderful, meaningful exhibition and lovely vernissage. All her seven illustrations were presenting great inspiration for all artist of different field of work. Her black and white pictures in golden frames were attracting all family members of Das Packhaus and also to people who were walking by the Packhaus building. Pictures fit the atmosphere of working space more than ever.
Illustrations were symbolising the symphony between animals and humans and respect between us. Respect comes from deep affection, love and kindness. Let’s not forget about these core values, which for sure, we forget from time to time.
